Driving Question:
Can I design a building or facility to meet the needs of community members in terms of housing, industry, recreation, education and healthcare?
Project Summary:
Students are given a design challenge to plan a virtual building or facility. Students will then build a virtual 3D model of their plan. Students will discuss zoning and identify basic city services (such as emergency services, transportation, and education). Students will consider many aspects of building planning as it relates to housing, industry, recreation, education and healthcare.

Week 1
Students are introduced to the course and Google SketchUp program.
Week 2
Begin learning the basic functions of Google SketchUp and create a basic structure.
Week 3
Students will be given background information and begin research of group assigned projects.

Teams will being putting plans on paper according to designated rubric.

Week 5
Plan approval and begin 3D modeling in Google SketchUp.

Week 6
Teams continue to build 3D models.
