Driving Question:
How can I use my knowledge of children, nutrition and textiles to create a child-care package with a focus on literacy, nutrition and age-appropriate toys?
Project Summary:
Kids everywhere love to receive a care package! Students will learn about child development in order to create age-appropriate gift boxes for area youth. Each student will plan to fill a hand made bag with: hand-made toys addressing intellectual and physical development, a storybook, recipe booklet, etc.

Week 1
Intoduction to course with examples of care packages and value of literacy.
Begin brainstorming.
Week 2
Begin writing and Illustrating the story.

Week 3
Complete storybooks.
Begin research on snack recipes.
Panel will select top stories to be shared with Elementary.
Week 4
Finalize recipes for cookbook. (brochure)
Begin cooking.

Discuss and research physical play and its importance.
(large motor skills) Begin making toys that address physical well-being.
